Late/Absence Procedures
Students need to be inside our school building at 8.35am please
Students should arrive no later than 8.35am so that they can get to their tutor room on time and be sat at their desks for 8.45am.
School doors open at 8.00am for students to access the canteen where they can buy a selection of food and drink for breakfast.
Did you know that good attendance and punctuality to school has a huge impact on a students' GCSE grades?
Good attendance also has a positive impact on a child's mental health because it gives them opportunities to form good relationships and create shared memories.
If your child is unwell and cannot attend school, please contact the attendance team no later than 8.30am, either by phone or e-mail:

When leaving a voicemail or sending an email, you should include:
Student’s full name
Year group
Reason why they are off (nature of symptoms)
When you expect them to return.
You must call in each day if this absence will cover more than just 24 hours.
Unauthorised Absence
There are times when children are absent for reasons, which are not permitted by law. These are known as “unauthorised absences”. Examples of unauthorised absence are:
- Going for a family day out
- Sleeping in after a late night
- Going shopping or for a haircut
- Celebrating a child’s birthday
- Unapproved holidays
- Where there is no explanation for the absence or where the explanation or reason is considered unsatisfactory
