Rainbow Flag Award

The Rainbow Flag Award is a national quality assurance framework for primary schools, secondary schools, SEND schools and colleges.  The award focusses on positive LGBT+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans plus other related identities), inclusion and visibility.

The Rainbow Flag Award encourages a whole organisation approach to LGBT+ inclusion, as well as developing strategies to effectively challenge and combat LGBT+phobic bullying.

As a Church of England school it is important that we are an inclusive community that is committed to all aspects of equality and diversity. We are all built in God's image regardless of our race, gender, sexuality etc.

To gain the Rainbow Flag award there 6 different sections: Skilled Teacher; Supportive Governors and Parents; Effective Policies; Pastoral Support; Inclusive curriculum and Student Voice. So far we have achieved the Skilled Teacher, Inclusive Curriculum and Effective Policies and look forward to working towards achieving the rest.

HT2 Health Education

As explained in the letter sent via parentmail (included below), throughout half term 2 our students learned about LGBT+ and inclusive relationships during Health Curriculum for Life Sessions. We are very proud of  the mature way in which our students engaged with these sessions, designed to increase understanding and reduce prejudice and discrimination. The booklet the students worked from is available to view below.

Support for parents of children questioning their gender or sexuality.
