Physical Education
Our Physical Education Curriculum
Team PE: Our Vision:
For all students to feel a genuine part of Team PE as they develop high quality physical literacy in order to be active for life and excel.
Our Mission:
We deliver a curriculum that is fun, adaptable to student needs, and promotes deep learning. This is achieved through linked practical concepts across activities, practice, and explicit teaching of behaviours for success.
A range of extra-curricular activities are offered. We want pupils to be proud of their achievements, and understand how special representing the school is.
Pupils can also specialise in PE through KS4 and KS5 exam-based PE courses.
St Michael’s pupils are treated as the unique individuals they are, standards and expectations are high, and students are challenged to their maximum potential.
We use a carefully sequenced, clear, multi-dimensional curriculum for physical literacy. This allows pupils to flourish personally, socially, and aspire to be a leader on their own road to being successful forever.
We are all ‘Team PE’
Our Curriculum
Our core Christian Values of Courage, Love, Forgiveness, Peace and Equality are the foundation of our curriculum and are fundamental to everything we do. We firmly believe that if these are applied to all aspects of learning our young people will have a strong moral compass that will serve them well in the future and allow them to flourish spiritually, personally and academically. We want our students to 'grow in wisdom' through our Curriculum for Learning and to 'grow in stature' through our Curriculum for Life.
