I am delighted to welcome you to St Michael’s Church of England Academy. My name is Roy Bellmon and I feel very privileged to be the Headteacher of such a unique school where our young people thrive. Our students, staff and setting make St Michael’s a wonderful place to learn.
Every parent/carer and child should expect their secondary school to have excellent teaching, strong pastoral care and high aspirations and standards for all students. Whilst this is certainly the case at St Michael’s, we believe that to help students be their very best, we need to develop their character to prepare them for all of life’s challenges. We passionately believe that there are no limits to what every student can achieve.
We are the only Church of England Secondary school in Sefton, and we are driven by our vision and values.
Building on the foundation of Luke 2:52, “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature,” students and staff grow spiritually, personally and academically as Christ did. By embodying our Christian values of love, peace, forgiveness, courage and equality, we flourish in a caring Christian community enabling achievement for all.
Our Christian faith is at the heart of everything we do. Just as Christ did, we inspire all in our school community to grow in all aspects of their lives. Our vision and values are not something that are just put on a poster, they are lived out every day.
Our staff are committed to inspiring every student by providing challenging and engaging teaching, that instils a love of learning in all. We unashamedly have high expectations of behaviour, with “The St Michael’s Way” setting the culture of how we do things here.
I am very proud to be part of the St Michael’s family and I hope our website will give you a good insight into who we are and why our students become the wonderful young people that make a positive contribution to the community and beyond.
