I am delighted to introduce myself as the proud Headteacher of our inclusive, aspirational and welcoming school community.

We are the only Church of England secondary school in Sefton and welcome every student as the unique individual that they are. We are proud to be part of the All Saints Multi Academy Trust, which allows us to work collaboratively across the Trust’s family of schools and provide the very best opportunities for our students.

At St Michael’s, we believe that a challenging and engaging curriculum is of the highest importance. Our role is to shape our students so that they can thrive, achieve their potential and make a positive contribution to their community and beyond.

St Michael’s is making strong progress in its ongoing improvement journey. We are ambitious for every child and are committed to continually strengthening the quality of education and experience we provide.

Our focus on high-quality teaching and learning, underpinned by clear and consistent lesson principles, is already driving improvements in student attainment. At the same time, we have worked tirelessly to strengthen our culture and embed our core values, fostering a calm, caring, and inclusive environment where all students are supported to achieve their very best.

The St Michael’s Way and our Five Habits are central to our culture. They provide a clear framework for the routines, behaviours and attitudes that enable our students to learn, grow and thrive. This is helping students to develop even higher standards, positive attitudes to learning and a growing confidence in their own ability to succeed.

We are ambitious for our students academically and personally, and we want every young person to leave St Michael’s with strong outcomes, high aspirations and the confidence to succeed in their next steps. It fills me with pride to see our students' dedication and hard work rewarded in their results.

Our vision is built on the foundation of Luke 2:52, “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature.” By embodying our Christian values of love, peace, forgiveness, courage and equality, we flourish in a caring Christian community enabling students and staff to grow spiritually, personally and academically as Christ did.

Our Christian faith is at the heart of everything we do. Our vision and values are not simply words on a poster; they are lived out every day. Our staff are role models who set high standards and expectations, instilling a love of learning, self-belief and resilience.
