About Us

St Michael's Church of England School, Crosby was founded in 2005 upon Christian values and the pursuit of excellence in education. We are a smaller than average school of around 650 students who live in a caring, family environment where personalisation of education is a key feature of our success. Our belief is that school must ensure that students produce high quality outcomes in terms of academic results, but also that they should develop as well-rounded personalities who are able to take their place in society and to make a useful contribution. To that end, we work tirelessly to develop the 'personal characteristics' of our students alongside their academic qualifications. In November 2014, working with the Diocese of Liverpool, St Michael's created a multi-academy trust and in September 2017 this was re-named the 'Liverpool Diocesan Schools Trust' (LDST). Currently the Trust consists of a number of primary schools across the Diocese and St Michael's is the only secondary school.

We live by strong Christian values, and many visitors comment on the warm, happy atmosphere the school engenders. The 'family feel' of the school is, we believe a great strength and something of which we are very proud. Students feel cared for, respected and valued. Our house system allows even greater personalisation and a sense of community under the guidance of form tutors and their Head of House. Our Chaplain leads our young people in their personal development as they live by our Christian values of Love, Peace, Equality, Courage and Forgiveness.

Our motto is 'Achievement for All' and this is a living statement which guides our work on a daily basis. It is essential to our philosophy that no child underachieves, that every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.
