NEWS: Electronic Gates

As part of our on-going investment in improved safety around the school, automatic gates have been installed

As part of our on-going investment in improved safety around the school, automatic gates have been installed on both car parks, which means that we are able to secure the perimeter during the school day.
From Monday 6th January 2020 our new electronic security gates will be in operation. Please note that the gates will be closed at 9.00 am in the morning and will open for 30 minutes at 2.50 pm each afternoon (except Week B Monday which will be 2.00pm), to ease traffic flow.
If you are seeking to enter the school in a vehicle when the gates are closed, please approach the control unit (on the right) and press to contact the receptionist. Please state your name and the purpose of your visit. Once the receptionist has released the gates, please note:-
• Wait for the gates to open fully before driving through.

• The electronic gates are programmed for one vehicle at a time (no tailgating).
• Once through the gates please be aware of any vehicles waiting to exit the car park.
• On exiting the car park, stay behind the line at the 'Wait here' sign; the gates will open automatically.

If accessing the school on foot, press the intercom at the pedestrian entrance, stating your name and the reason for your visit and wait for the gate to be released. Once released, please push the gate to enter; it will close automatically behind you. Similarly, to exit, once at the pedestrian gate you will need to press the intercom/exit button, so that the receptionist can open the gate for you. Once released, you will need to pull the gate to exit.
For your safety, when the car park gates are in operation, please may I remind pedestrians to use the pedestrian gate only.
Whilst we will not officially be using the automated gate system until the first day of term, we will be having a couple of trial days before then.
